Graduate Minor

Ph.D. Minors in Political Science

a. Doctoral students from other departments seeking a minor in Political Science must take a minimum of twelve units in Political Science at the 500 level. Adjustments may be made for students with particularly limited or extensive background in Political Science as recommended by the Guidance Committee and with the approval of the Director of Graduate Studies.

b. Up to six units of transfer credit may be accepted if they are compatible with departmental offerings and the student’s minor program, are of reasonably recent vintage, and if approved by Political Science members of the student's committee and by the Director of Graduate Studies.

c. Examinations must encompass written and oral portions in one of the major fields. Two members of the Political Science Department must serve on all committees as minor representatives.

d. All minor programs must be approved by the Director of Graduate Studies.
